A beautiful, rugged hike past mountain lakes where, if you're lucky, you might encounter the lords of the land: the ibex.
From the Rivier d’Allemond, take the Pas de la Coche trail, which you’ll leave at the Ruisseau des Combes (signpost). The trail follows this stream upstream before climbing steeply beneath the Pic du Pin. You’ll join the trail coming from the Pas de la Coche and cross it to the east, below the Pic de la Belle Etoile.
The trail then climbs rapidly to a peat bog (2,322 m).
You’ll then cross a long rocky outcrop (with numerous cairns) before reaching a trail that leads to the pass (2,556 m).
