Mountain pass - Col d'Ornon from La Paute (north slope)

Col d'Ornon marks the passage between Oisans and Valbonnais valleys.
The only difficult part of the northern ascent of the Ornon pass is the slightly steeper slope before reaching the pass.

The route starts from La Paute and is not very long at 10.4 km. The climb is irregular, and the average gradient is a demanding 6%. There are a few flat spots up to the Pont des Oulles. From there, the gradient is steeper (between 6.5 and 8%).

Take the D526 from La Paute hamlet and follow it to Col d'Ornon.
