Summer hike: Montfrais Alpine pastures - the children up there

A mountain of history tells you the story of the ascent and the life in the mountain pastures: flowers, cows and freedom!

To reach the start of the hike, go to the hamlet of La Villette. There are two ways to get there: either by the little train or on foot. Move forward to the communal oven, at the entrance to the hamlet, take the lane towards the waterfall (indicated in yellow on the signs). Go down this lane to find a small path that continues to the river. Cross the bridge and follow the track, taking the small path on the left. A zig-zag climb takes you to the Clos Giraud mountain pastures. Go down the track to the entrance of the Vallonet chairlift and then down the small Roche Melon path. Rejoin the track, which takes you back to La Villette.
